Updates

The world of TEZNEZCO! has finally settled down into a post-Christmas/New Year slump. The decorations have been taken down, the cards have gone in the bin and there’s nothing but a eerie silence over Pearl Beach (silent that is except for the occasional burst of wind). There are plenty of things to be done (extensive tidying, thank you notes, Brush Turkey wrangling) but we all seem to have fallen into a pattern of getting up, taking care of business and then falling back into bed again, all the while thinking “equipment not maintained, correspondence not answered…”. Let’s see if we can’t get a few things in order.

Ruthie writes

“A LOVELY Christmas dinner! Except that I also wanted my food mashed up and mixed with whisky! Lots of whisky! Yeah! Glenfiddich! I saw a lovely Komatsu the other day - a white one which looked very clean and trim. I had thoughts of stealing it for a certain someone but I can barely drive my car....”

That’s OK Ruthy, Nesbitt has already forgotten the Komatsu and is now looking at large Earth-moving vehicles, those big ten wheeler numbers they use at open cut mines. The one thing you can say about the diminutive Nesbitt is that he thinks big. As for the Whisky paste, we’ll take a note of that for next year, but you’ll have to move a lot quicker if you’re going to beat Mr. Farkas to the bottle.

HollyTheLiar Makes Unfounded Assertion

“You gotta be free in 2003? I think the bears have merely made this the slogan of the year in order to continue their practice of No Pants Wearing.”

Well, that is clearly a bunch of arse. Speaking of which, this year’s slogan is more to do with spirit, as indeed HollyTheLiar acknowledges with one of her pledges to “think positive”. If that isn’t freedom, then we clearly don’t know our constitution, to wit, “the right arm bears”.

DUK relents

We welcome this overture of friendship from our mallardian pal DUK, who has promised to reinstate the pictures of the bears to his garishly coloured Diaryland web pages. Teddy is especially pleased since the photo of him on top of the bookcase is a good one.

And finally, some fashion notes…

You’ll recall no doubt that Mr. Oaf has a thing about the Skirt and Pants wearing at the same time fashion that persists in the larger metro areas of Australia. Meanwhile, a whole new fashion thing has got way out of hand and that’s the 70s style brush cut look for ladies. Mr. Oaf was loitering near Wynyard station the other day and saw a woman with a haircut that made her look like an exotic dancer from the 1970s. Is that a fashion? Really? Or just a mistake?

“This diary cracked me up, completely, perhaps the oddest diary I have ever read. I'm not sure if it's a takeoff on something or someone that I have somehow missed. Regardless, TEZNEZCO! chronicles the adventures of two bears and describe them as if they are a minority of some sort. The writing is disturbingly matter-of-fact as if it is perfectly normal to be writing about these bears as people. I like it; it's pleasantly novel" - Diaryreview
