Cake Day - 12:36 p.m.

Have They Been? Are They Coming? Who Are They? What do They want From Us?

Teddy has been tidying up the offices of TEZNEZCO! (The Company Run By Bears ™) in anticipation of the Diaryreview people coming around to inspect how “we do things here” in this quiet backwater of Diaryland.

Nesbitt went out and bought a nice cake and put in on a plate, Teddy made tea while Penguin dusted some shelves. Then we sat around and waited. And waited. The ceiling fan seemed to slow and the afternoon sun seemed to get hotter as we sat in our Sunday Best. Teddy peered out the window. Nesbitt flipped through copy of Entertainment Weekly and Penguin sat quietly.

“I don’t think they’re coming,” Teddy said, looking at his fob watch.

“This is outrageous,” said Bim, entering the room wearing a smoking jacket, his fur brushed and his shoes polished. “I’ve been waiting at the door for hours and there’s no sign of these so called ‘reviewers’”.

“I think we should just try and get on with our lives,” Nesbitt said. “Anyone for cake?”

“Good idea, my small bear,” said Teddy as he cut a slice of chocolate mud cake.

“This diary cracked me up, completely, perhaps the oddest diary I have ever read. I'm not sure if it's a takeoff on something or someone that I have somehow missed. Regardless, TEZNEZCO! chronicles the adventures of two bears and describe them as if they are a minority of some sort. The writing is disturbingly matter-of-fact as if it is perfectly normal to be writing about these bears as people. I like it; it's pleasantly novel" - Diaryreview
